Grand Alliance, BJP candidates file papers for MLC elections
PATNA: On the last day of filing nominations for the Bihar Legislative Council polls, all five candidates of Grand Alliance (GA) and three BJP candidates filed their nomination papers for the 11 council seats that go to poll on March 21. Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD leader Rabri Devi, along with RJD candidates Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Dr Urmila Thakur and Syed Faisal Ali and one candidate from CPI-ML, Shashi Yadav, filed the nomination on Monday morning.
Later in the day, all the three BJP candidates, former minister Mangal Pandey, Dr Lal Mohan Gupta and Anamika Singh filed their nominations in presence of BJP deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary and other NDA leaders.

Former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav asserted that RJD will win the MLC elections.
“Today five candidates have filed their nominations from the Mahagathbandhan. In five candidates there are three women,” Tejashwi said. The BJP has announced its candidates for three seats in Bihar for now for the MLC election 2024. CM Nitish Kumar and Khalid Anwar under the JD(U) quota have already filed their nomination.
Speaking to reporters after filing nomination, BJP candidate Lal Mohan Gupta said, “I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to PM Modi, party president JP Nadda, and deputy CM Samrat Choudhary for showing faith in me and giving me this opportunity.”
“I will fulfil all the responsibilities that have been given to me,” said another BJP MLC candidate Anamika Singh.
