Free drones, flying licences for women at Namo Drone Didi prog
THE WOMEN SELF HELP GROUPS (SHG) WILL GET 80 PER CENT OF THE COST FOR THE PURCHASE OF DRONES
PRAYAGRAJ : The women were provided free drones and drone pilot certificates at the Namo Drone Didi programme held at IFFCO Phulpur on Monday. The programme was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually.
While speaking at the programme, Rajya Sabha MP Seema Dwivedi said the prime minister is dedicated to making every section of the society selfdependent. He trained women to bring a revolution in agriculture and is continuously working for the upliftment of women. She also appreciated the IFFCO’s contribution to empowering women farmers by manufacturing high-quality fertiliser.
Addressing the women, MP Phulpur Kesri Devi Patel said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the only true benefactor of the farmers while urging the women farmers to effectively use training and drones provided to them. Besides, she said that nano urea developed by IFFCO will certainly help in increasing farmers’ incomes.
Senior working committee director Sanjay Kudeshia appreciated the skills displayed by women in flying drones.
He informed that the drones, which can fly holding 10 litres of pesticide and run with a chargeable battery, will play an important role in sprinkling urea and pesticides on the crops.
Each drone costs Rs 10 lakh. The women self help groups (SHG) will get 80 per cent of the cost for the purchase of drones while loans will be provided for the rest of the amount with three per cent of subsidised interest.
Each woman drone pilot has been given the drone with a target of 10 to 15 villages. They have been provided training of 15 days and will be given a remuneration of Rs 15000.
