Two loot ₹10.75l from bank in Baran distt: Cops
KOTA: Two masked men carrying firearms looted ₹10.75 lakh from a bank in Badgaun village of Baran district, in Rajasthan on Wednesday, police said. Baran ASP Rajesh Choudhary said that two bike-borne masked men carrying firearms barged into the Badgaun village branch of the UCO bank around 12 noon and looted ₹10.75 lakh.“They fired a shot in the air to terrorise the bank staffers,” the police officer said, adding that a used cartridge was found at the spot.On receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Police teams have been formed to nab the accused and CCTV footage was being examined, the ASP said.
Contract killer arrested by Pratapgarh police
PRAYAGRAJ: Pratapgarh police on Thursday arrested Kallu Don, the assailant involved in the murder of furniture trader Mohd Naeem on March 21 under the jurisdiction of Patti police station. Kallu Don was arrested with the firearm used in the crime, said police. SP Pratapgarh, Satpal Antil, has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for the arrest of Kallu Don, who allegedly accepted a contract worth Rs 6 lakh from Mohd Naeem’s son to assassinate his father. Earlier, the minor son of Naeem along with his friends, Piyush Pal, Priyanshu Mishra, and Shubham Soni, was taken into custody. During interrogation, they revealed that residents of Andeori village, Swapndeep Yadav, also known as Kallu Don, and Akash Gupta of Kandhai were hired by the son to kill the furniture trader.
BSF director-general evaluates state frontier’s security measures
