Mini truck collides with trailer, driver charred to death
PRAYAGRAJ : A mini truck driver was charred to death after his vehicle caught fire following a collision with a trailer near the Shankargarh police station in Trans-Yamuna area here late on Friday night.
According to reports, the mini passenger truck was traveling from Chitrakoot when the collision occurred near a cement factory in the Shankargarh area.
The impact ignited a fire in the mini passenger truck, claiming the life of its driver, identified as Robin Masih, 32, from Isai Basti in the Naini area.
Upon receiving the information, station house officer (SHO) Omprakash of Shankargarh police station promptly arrived at the scene and dispatched the body for autopsy.
He revealed that although the trailer fled the scene, an FIR has been lodged against the unidentified driver based on the vehicle’s registration number.
Petrol pump owner robbed of Rs 10,000 Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 10,000 in cash from a petrol pump owner near Kaserua Kala village, situated under the jurisdiction of the Sarai Inayat police station in the TransGanga area on Saturday.

According to reports, Durg Chandra Bhartiya, the owner of a petrol filling station along the Prayagraj - Gorakhpur Highway in Kaserua Kala village, had ridden his bicycle to Sahson on Saturday morning around 9:30 am
On his return journey to Kaserua Kala, near a cold storage facility, Bhartiya was intercepted by two individuals on a motorcycle. They threatened him and forcibly took Rs 10,000 in cash and his mobile phone. Subsequently, the perpetrators fled towards Jhunsi. Bhartiya lodged a complaint at the Sahson police outpost following the incident. Police officials have initiated further investigations and are questioning locals to apprehend the culprits.
PRAYAGRAJ: Gymnast Mohd Anas, 23, from Prayagraj has qualified for the Asian Championship, an Olympic Games qualifier round, to be held in Uzbekistan in May.
His qualification came after he scored the highest in artistic gymnastics trials held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha on Friday.
Hailing from Prayagraj, Anas is employed with the Indian Navy and is said to be one of the best gymnasts in the country. He competed in the national games held in Goa in October 2023 and emerged won a gold in a vaulting table event. He also holds the distinction of being India’s first gymnast to win three golds, one silver and a bronze medal in the Khelo India School Games of 2018.
A resident of Civil Lines, Anas completed his high school and intermediate from the Khelgaon Public School in the city. He is presently also attending a camp under the Odisha government and is training under wellknown coaches, including Ashok Kumar Mishra and Shinoj Muliyil, said Mohd Rafey, 2019 Asian Bronze winner and Anas’ younger brother.
