Wedding discussions after IPL: Sagarika

Everyone’s eager to know their wedding date ever since cricketer Zaheer Khan and actor Sagarika Ghatge announced their engagement on Monday. Sagarika wants you to wait till IPL finishes on May 21.

“We will probably plan everything after the Indian Premier League because it is too soon right now. It’d be wrong to even discuss it right now,” says Sagarika, who has been spotted at the matches, supporting Zaheer, the captain of the Delhi team.

Excitedly sharing how Zaheer had planned the proposal, she says, “We went to Goa for a holiday. It was just the two of us there, and I had no idea that he is going to propose. It was a complete surprise. There were no family or friends. We will have proper engagement celebrations after the IPL.”

The buzz around their relationship started after Zaheer and Sagarika made an appearance together at cricketer Yuvraj Singh and actor Hazel Keech’s wedding in November 2016. However, neither of them confirmed the news. “Everyone kept asking us about our relationship. Now that the engagement is done, why not share it with everyone? This is important for us. It’s always better for it [the news] to come from us than anybody else.”

Sagarika debuted in Bollywood with Chak De ! India in 2007. Her last film was Irada that released in February.
