NOLAN’S ART OF MAKING A FILM IS UNIQUE: BRANAGH
Irish actor Kenneth Branagh (right) has nothing but admiration for Christopher Nolan’s (inset) work. Branagh will be playing the role of Commander Bolton in the upcoming War drama, Dunkirk, directed by Christopher Nolan.
In a recent interview, Branagh said that his decision to be a part of the film was Nolan and not the script. His appreciation for the filmmaker began, when he watched Memento, saying, “I had the classic Christopher Nolan experience of watching the film with a few people and then spend an hour of intense conversation trying to find out what it meant, being certain that we did, and understanding that we didn’t,” he says.
Full of praise for Nolan, Branagh says, “Nolan has a way to take an independent approach to popular moviemaking that is unique in modern cinema. He makes films that are complex and often challenging, and yet millions of people not only go to see them, they see them again and again.”
