Just four-films old in the industry, Tiger Shroff has already earned a loyal fan following. While many might feel that it’s easier for star kids to get a big launch pad and work with the biggest banners in Bollywood, Tiger says the silver spoon only brings added pressure. On whether being Jackie Shroff ’s son helped him be confident and navigate the industry better than others, Tiger quips, “I rather feel more nervous because I’m his son. There is a huge legacy to take forward, and so much of expectations to live up to.”

Tiger, however, feels that it is natural for one to think that he’s had it easier when it comes to being noticed. “I admit that it’s easier for us to get noticed initially. So, I do agree with the fact that just because I am my father’s son, it was easier for people to start noticing me.”

Tiger, however, asserts that he has carved his own niche in the industry, without using his father’s name to get work. “I have made it on my own mettle. I have created my own identity. I wouldn’t say that it was because of my father that my producers signed me for my first film, Heropanti (2014).”

Nodding in agreement to other star kids’ opinion that being a star only helps until one makes their debut, Tiger says, “I know my father is holding my hand only until the lights go off in a cinema hall. So, whether [or not] people decide to take over and hold my hand from there, that’s the question! The audience isn’t forgiving.”

On whether he takes any advice from his father while signing films, Tiger says, “My dad is very bindaas. He knows that I’m a dark horse, who only sees the finish line in the front. He doesn’t really give any tips because he knows I’m much focused on my craft.”
