Irish rock band The Script wants to work with singer Rihanna, drummer Glen Power has said.

The title track Rain from their latest album Freedom Child has Jamaican tunes similar to Rihanna’s songs Work and Man Down.

Power told Bang Showbiz, “It would be amazing to work with Rihanna. Wouldn’t that be so awesome? We are always open to working with anybody.”

Talking about its departure from straight-up pop rock, the percussionist said the group tried to do something different.

“At the end of the day, it’s still The Script. The content is similar, and the themes are of love, loss, and heartache. We are just putting on a different coat, that is all,” they said.

The Script also comprises lead singer Danny O’ Donoghue and guitarist Mark Sheehan.

IN THEIR LATEST ALBUM, THE BAND HAS MOVED AWAY FROM STRAIGHTUP POP ROCK
