HAVE YOU HEARD? Shahid’s next to be comedy now, instead of drama

ActorShahid Kapoor’s next film, titled Batti Gul Meter Chalu, is apparently being reworked as a quirky comedy instead of a social drama. The director, Shree Narayan Singh, who had made his directorial debut with Toilet: Ek Prem Katha this year, told Mid Day, “When we got the first draft, it was a different story. But we want to make it quirky — in the same space as Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. We have been rewriting the film since October 15.”

The film was earlier supposed to be a legal drama, where the protagonist, played by Shahid, would fight the corruption in the electricity board. Director Shree Narayan Singh mentioned that the film would be both a commercial entertainer and one that started a social conversation.
