Liam Payne game for 1D reunion

-

Former member of One Direction, Liam Payne can hardly wait for the band to get back. Members of the English-Irish pop group went their separate ways 18 months ago. Most of them have been working solo ever since, and topping music charts.

Payne thinks it’s ‘‘insane” that his band has equaled the Beatles record of having three members with solo albums topping the charts. In an interview with a leading US publication, he said, “Congrats to Niall [Horan on his album release]. I can’t believe the band’s breaking records every other week while we’re on hiatus. It’s insane. But it makes me more proud to be a part of it and I can’t wait for the comeback.”

The 24-year-old believes that interest in 1D has stayed high because of social media. “We’re the first band to have a break in the eye of social media and that has helped us because earlier you could not see what people were up to, and now, it’s all on Instagram stories. So, I think, that’s had a massive effect on it,” said Payne.

As for the band’s other members, Niall Horan continues recording music, Harry Styles has been testing his acting chops and working on solo music. Zayn Malik, who left the band in 2015, has since belted out solo hits.
