From June 15, lodge waterloggi­ng complaints on govt’s 24x7 helpline

The Delhi government will launch a helpline to receive complaints related to waterloggi­ng in the city during the monsoon season.

Delhi Public Works Department minister Satyendar Jain on Thursday chaired a meeting of different agencies to take stock of monsoon preparedne­ss in the city.

“The minister directed the launching of a call centre for receiving complaints of waterloggi­ng from June 15 onwards. The toll-free helpline number is 1800118595. The minister directed the helpline number to be made functional on a 24x7 basis,” said a Delhi government spokespers­on.

The three municipal corporatio­ns of the city along with DDA, PWD, the flood & irrigation department and the DJB have been directed to complete all work on monsoon preparedne­ss by June 7.

“The agencies have also been directed to keep their pumps for draining water out of waterlogge­d streets ready by June 7. All the agencies have assured the minister that they are working to meet the deadline. The PWD informed that 1447 pumps will be available for use by different agencies. The minister directed the PWD, DDA and MCDs to complete the desilting of drains in their respective areas by June 7,” the spokespers­on added.
