Class 6 student suffer injuries after being beaten up by school teacher

NEW DELHI: A Class 6 student of a private school in south Delhi suffered injuries after he was beaten up allegedly by his teacher in the school, police said on Tuesday. They said the teacher beat up the student after he had a fight with another student of his class. The school is located in Hazrat Nizamuddin area in south Delhi.

Romil Baaniya, deputy commission­er of police (southeast), said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. The FIR was registered after the boy’s father approached the Nizamuddin police and filed a complaint against the teacher. In his complaint, the boy’s father alleged that the teacher assaulted his son and the boy had injuries on his back, said Baaniya.

According to the DCP, the teenager was medically examined at AIIMS and the nature of injury was marked by the doctor as “simple and blunt with abrasions on the back”.

Police said the matter came to the notice of the parents when the boy refused to go to school on Tuesday. When they asked him the reason, he told them that he was beaten up by his teacher with a stick.
