‘CENTRE WON’T REMOVE TAGORE FROM TEXTBOOKS’

The government will not remove Rabindra Nath Tagore from school textbooks, Union human resource development (HRD) minister Prakash Javadekar told Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. The human resource development minister said the government respected Tagore and all others who had contributed to the freedom and literature of the country. “We hail everybody and nothing will be removed,” said Javadekar. He was responding to Trinamool Congress parliamentarian Derek O’Brien who raised the issue during zero hour.
