Govt to create fund for better budgeting: Sisodia
Delhi government will create a “Policy Impact Fund” for better budgeting and implementation of its programmes, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia announced on Wednesday. The fund, Sisodia said, would start with an annual allocation of Rs 5 crore.
“Delhi will be the first state to invest in the analysis of outcomes of government policies. This is to generate highest bar of evidence on how well policies are functioning and how can they be made more effective,” said a press statement quoting the deputy CM during a lecture series on “Evidence based policymaking, monitoring and evaluation” at Delhi secretariat.
Eminent economists Prof Abhijit Banerjee of department of economics and co-founder, J-Pal, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA , along with Prof Esther Duflo of department of economics and co-founder, J-Pal, MIT delivered their key note lectures at the event.
