Death toll in Bengal bus accident rises to 42

BERHAMPORE: The death toll in the Bengal bus mishap rose to 42 on Tuesday, with rescue personnel fishing out six more bodies from the canal where the ill-fated bus plunged on Monday morning. On Monday, National Disaster Response Force and Disaster Management Group personnel recovered 36 bodies from the vehicle that sunk without a trace after plunging into the canal. A senior government official said some of the bodies were found stuck in the waterbed, while others were floating.
