Gorge on some lip smacking street food this monsoon

-

While Delhiites love to gorge on street food throughout the year, monsoon only increases the craving for something chatpata. But the risk of falling sick makes us ditch those roadside kiosks, and instead, opt for packaged, ready-to-eat snacks and drinks available at supermarkets. But not any more. A new restaurant in town, Imly, offers an exclusive and extensive experience to all street-food lovers – the same taste, in a clean, hygenic setting. The restaurant’s owner,

Varun Puri, recently hosted an evening dedicated to his foodie friend and young cyclist on board, Mohit Kapoor, who was on a cycle expedition from Jaipur to Malaysia, travelling a total of eight countries all by himself. To indulge in the street food at Imly, Kapoor — an aspiring chef — travelled from Jaipur to Delhi on his cycle.

“We wouldn’t have a better opportunity to welcome Mohit than at Imly, Rajendra Place. It’s the best way to connect him to the street food of India, foodies and bloggers. Mohit also learned about kalmi vada, palak patta chaat and Chinese bhel at our restaurant, and plans to include it in his upcoming recipe book,” says Puri.

“Imly is a street food bistro that has already created a stir in West Delhi and Noida. Soon, we shall bring some Imly-ness to Rajouri Garden, Connaught Place, Gurgaon and Mumbai,” adds the founder and director of the restaurant.
