The digital medium is booming right now, and has caught the attention of many actors such as Richa Chadda, Sayani Gupta, Vivek Oberoi and Rajeev Khandelwal. And next in line is Arbaaz Khan. The actorfilmmaker, who made his directorial debut with Dabangg 2 (2012), now plans to enter the digital space.

“I am inclined towards bringing interesting cinema to the forefront,” says Arbaaz. “I am always excited about good cinema and especially with digital space doing so well nowadays, I want to do something like an interesting web series,” says Arbaaz, who also produced Dabangg (2010).

The 50-year-old actor says that he was inspired to try the medium, owing to the good content being churned out internationally. Arbaaz has also been part of several TV shows in the past, and even produces films under his own banner.

“Recently I have seen a lot of content and particularly the stuff that is coming from the West and some interesting stuff is coming on television and digital platform. It’s so inspiring and amazing that you just get hooked on to some of the series,” says Arbaaz, who is also known for films such as Suryavanshi (1992) and Daraar (1996).

The actor adds that this is the best time for India to explore digital space.

“There’s now a scenario in India, where people want to work in web series. It’s nice that there is an audience and space for that and they are just growing from strength to strength,” he says.
