Actor Diana Penty’s last release, Parmanu, got the cash registers ringing. After that, she graced the silver screen with another entertainer, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. The actor seems pretty content with her year so far.

“It’s been an interesting and productive year. I have enjoyed every bit of it,” shares Diana.

The actor has a special place in her heart for Parmanu. “Parmanu has been amazing. When I read the story, I knew I wanted to be part of it because it made me very proud. I knew that this was a story which people didn’t know. It was an enriching experience for me. My respect for my country rose tenfolds. It gave me something different to do,” she says.

The most important thing about the film was the chance to take up action scenes.

“I have never done martial art before. I trained for two to three months and realised how tough it is. The scene can be for two to three minutes but what goes behind it is something different. I would do take after take of those kicks, and at the end of the day, I won’t feel my legs. There was pain in muscles that I didn’t even know existed in my body,” laughs off Diana.

The actor also addresses the ongoing #MeToo movement against sexual harassment.

“Luckily enough, I can say that I haven’t (faced it). I actually feel like I’m almost lucky, that I have worked with some of the nicest people. At some stage of our lives, women have faced harassment. It may be not on extreme levels, but how does that matter? Harassment is harassment,” says Diana, on the sidelines of Indian Fashion Week, where she walked for designer Vidhi Wadhwani.
