The town and country planning department has sent a notice to all colonies in Gurgaon asking them to comply with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) orders to keep a check on air pollution at construction sites.

The notice outlines about 10 points that residents of the colonies must follow or else they will be fined ` 50,000 or more for non-compliance. The NGT had on April 10 red-flagged the way the construction firms were handling and transporting construction material and debris. Following this, the director general of the town and country planning department, Haryana issued a notice on May 14.

“If found violating the NGT orders…they shall be liable to pay compensation of ` 50,000 in relation to construction activity and ` 5,000 for each violation during carriage and transportation of material in terms of Section 15 of the NGT Act,” states the notice.
