Hyderabad woman with IS links held
An Indian woman suspected to be a recruiter for the Islamic State was arrested on Friday by police at the airport here on arrival from Dubai, from where she was reportedly deported.
The arrest of Afsha Jabeen alias Nicky Joseph is connected to that of Salman Mohiuddin, arrested by state police in January while trying to fly to Dubai. During interrogation, he revealed he had come in contact with Joseph, whom he called a British national living in Dubai, and that the two of them had on social media influenced several local youth into joining IS.
Police said the investigation has revealed that Joseph is an Indian national from this city.

The arrest followed that of a Salman Mohiuddin, who was arrested by the Cyberabad police in January just before he was leaving for Dubai to join Joseph..
During i nterrogation, Mohiuddin had revealed that he came in contact with British national Joseph living in Dubai.
He said both of them together indoctrinated several local youths for jihad via social media and influenced them to join the terror outfit IS.
Mohiuddin also confessed that Joseph had influenced him into joining IS and had invited him to join her in Dubai to go to Syria. A case was registered against them.
“During further investigation, it was revealed that Nicky Joseph was not a British national but in fact an Indian with original name as Afsha Jabeen hailing from Towlichowki area of the city,” police said.
Jabeen had mig rated to Abu Dhabi during her childhood, but after completing her Intermediate in Abu Dhabi, she came to Hyderabad and graduated from Shadan College. She married a Devender Kumar alias Mustafa.
Based on this information and with the help of intelligence sleuths, police on Friday arrested Jabeen.
Further investigation is on to understand her involvement at various levels in connection with IS and other jihadi activities, the police stated.
Recently, the city police havearrested and restrained a few Hyderabad youth from joining the IS. Several more were counseled against such influence.
