IF THE LAB FAILS TO RETRIEVE THE FOOTAGE, PROBE MAY SUFFER A SERIOUS SETBACK AS GURGAON POLICE HOPED TO IDENTIFY OTHER DIPLOMATS

The hard disk containing the CCTV footage of Catriona complex in Ambience Island has been damaged and the police are having difficulty in retrieving the film, said Gurgaon police.

The disk has been sent to a forensic lab in Madhuban, Karnal. But if the lab fails to retrieve the footage, investigation into the case may suffer a serious setback as the Gurgaon Police hoped to identify the visitors, including other diplomats, to the apartment.

Meanwhile, another video recorded by the NGO members on Monday when they went to rescue the victims allegedly shows the diplomat’s family fighting the NGO members and assaulting the cops as well, the NGO said.

But the police deny having the footage. They have neither taken action nor registered a case for assault on cops.

“The security guard went to the diplomat’s apartment and asked them to open the door. The family members got angry and when the diplomat’s wife came out, the NGO and the cops rescued the two victims. The footage clearly shows those at the apartment abusing and shouting at the cops, misbehaving with them and thrashing a woman cop,” said Indira Pandey, manager, Maiti India NGO.

The video is very important for us and to fight for the victims in the court, we will provide a copy to the Nepal authorities and one to Nepal Embassy, said Pandey.
