Paul Writer, India’s first community of marketers, on Friday unveiled a marquee list of Hot 50 brands of Mumbai at the Mumbai Brand Summit & Hot 50 Brands programme, the second edition of the event that also covers cities such as Bangalore and Delhi-NCR.

The event was presented by One India, an alliance of HT Media Ltd ( which publishes Hindustan Times), and publish

ers of The Telegraph and The Hindu, and co-hosted by Vizury, a company that integrates brands with online markets.

The Hot 50 were selected through a process which involved online voting and evaluation by a jury. The parameters included industry- leading growth, increase in positive sentiment, innovation and differenti­ation.

“India has a rich trove of powerful brands and the objective of doing these city-wise was to go deeper into the brand excellence of each location,” Paul Writer CEO Jessie Paul said.

The jury that selected the winners was chaired by Madhavan Narayanan of Hindustan Times and comprised of brand gurus such as Madhukar Kamath, Group CEO and MD, DDB Mudra Group, Jaideep Gokhale, director, marketing communicat­ions, South Asia, East Asia & Oceania, Tetra Pak, Ashish Bhasin, chairman & CEO, South Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network and chairman, Posterscop­e and psLive Asia Pacific, Lloyd Mathias, marketing head, India, printing & personal systems, Hewlett-Packard and Ranjivit Singh, senior vicepresid­ent, corporate marketing, CMO, Samsung India Electronic­s.

Applicatio­ns were invited in five categories — Young organisati­ons (revenue of less than

` 100 crore), B2B (business-to-business), B2C (business-to-consumer) and large organisati­ons (revenue of over ` 100 crore).

Speakers at the summit included Abraham Alapatt, chief innovation officer at Thomas Cook, Arun Anant, director, revenue & strategy, HT Media Ltd, Deepali Naair, CMO, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts and Devendra Chawla, group president, food FMCG, brands, Future Group.

Other speakers included Hetal Kotak, COO, Colorplus, Mainak Dhar, MD, General Mills, Subra Krishnan, vice-president, Vizury, Rajesh Kumar, marketing head at SAP, Sujit Ganguli, head brand at ICICI Bank and Vivek Sharma, CMO, Pidilite Industries.
