AGASSI JOINS SUPER COACHES

Andre Agassi is the latest former Grand Slam-winning superstar to join forces with a current player having agreed to coach Novak Djokovic. HT looks at the other players-turned-super coaches and their success rate:

BORIS BECKER

Coached: Novak Djokovic From: Dec 2013 to Dec 2016 Success with Djokovic: 6 Grand Slam titles, 14 Masters titles

Where he is now: Becker coached Djokovic for three years, helping him achieve a career Grand Slam last year. The two continue to remain on good terms.

IVAN LENDL

Coached: Andy Murray From: Jan 2012 to Mar 2014, June 2016-till now Success with Murray: 2 Grand Slam titles, 1 Olympic gold

Where he is now: Lendl helped Murray win the coveted Wimbledon crown during his first spell, and then again when he re-joined his coaching team in June 2016. The Czceh coach who rarely travels with Murray will be present at the 2017 French Open after Murray expressly called him in to help.

JOHN MCENROE

Coached: Milos Raonic From: Jun 2016 to Aug 2016 Success with Raonic: First Grand Slam singles final

Where he is now: McEnroe teamed up with Raonic as a coaching consultant for the 2016 summer grass court season. Under his guidance, Raonic reached his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon.

STEFAN EDBERG

Coached: Roger Federer From: Jan 2014 to Dec 2015 Success with Federer: 3 Grand Slam finals

Where he is now: Edberg could not help Federer add to his Grand Slam tally. However, their partnershi­p did take Federer to the finals of Wimbledon twice and the US Open once.

GORAN IVANISEVIC

Coached: Marin Cilic From: Sep 2013 to Jun 2016 Success with Cilic: 1 Grand Slam title

Where he is now: Ivanisevic coached Croatian compatriot Cilic to his first Grand Slam title — the 2014 US Open. He joined the coaching staff of Tomas Berdych in August 2016.
