DU releases 7th cutoff, admissions to many popular courses still open

NEW DELHI: Delhi University has released its seventh cutoff list with admissions to popular honours courses such as Economics, English and BCom still open at some colleges for general category.

Economics (Hons) was available for admission at colleges such as Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (94.25%), College of Vocational Studies (94.5%), Hindu College (97.25%) and Indraprastha College for Women (96%).

BCom (Hons) is open for admission at colleges such as ARSD (93.75%), CVS (93.75%), Daulat Ram (94.75%) and Kalindi College (88.5%).

Officials had said almost 55,000 seats have been filled when the admissions under the sixth cutoff list were closed.

“However, some colleges still have a few seats left under the general category, so they are coming out with a seventh list to fill those seats,” said an official.

English (Hons) was available for admission at 20 colleges such as SGTB Khalsa (93.5%) and Vivekananda College (88%).

Admissions under the seventh cutoff will be done on Thursday and Friday, the DU registrar said in a statement.

However, most of the soughtafter colleges have closed admission in general category even though admissions to reserved categories are still open for some of the courses.

Hans Raj College has closed admission for all courses in general category, except for BA Programme, which has a cutoff of 91.5%.

Hindu College has closed admission in all courses for general category, except for Economics, Hindi (90%) and History (96.25%).

Kirori Mal College has also closed admission in all courses, except for BSc Physics, which is available at 95.66% for general category.

Lady Shri Ram College has closed its admission in all courses, except Political Science (97.25%) and Statistics (96.75%). Miranda House has also closed admission in all courses, except Hindi, for which the cutoff is 84%.
