MAN RUNS OVER TODDLER WHILE REVERSING CAR IN GURGAON

GURGAON:A toddler was killed on Saturday morning when he came under the tyre of a car while playing outside his home in Rajendra Park area.

The children, playing with the victim, raised the alarm after the accident and the one-and-a-halfyear old was rushed to the hospital. However, the victim, Anuj, succumbed to injuries.

The police took the body of the victim for post-mortem and later handed it over to his family. Action was initiated by Rajendra Park police under Section 174 of CrPC.

Police said Bijender, who was driving a Maruti Eeco car, ran over Anuj while backing his car as he could not see him properly. After the children in the vicinity started shouting, Anuj was pulled out from under the car.

He was immediately rushed to the Columbia Asia hospital in Palam Vihar where he was given preliminary treatment.

The victim was being taken to Max hospital but he succumbed to injuries on the way, the police said.

Investigating officer ASI Subash said that action was initiated under Section 174 of the CrPC as the family members of the victim do not want any action in the case. His body was handed over to the victim after a postmortem examination, he said.

The father of the victim works in a factory.
