5G network test run in the works

A high-level forum, chaired by telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan, was set up in September to approve the road map to deploy 5G by 2020

One of the steering committees under the forum has suggested setting up use case labs, starting with the banking vertical

The committee suggested announcing 700MHz, 3.5GHz, 24GHz, 28GHz bands as 5G bands and allow for research trials

The committee has also suggested that the telecom department identify 600MHz, 1.4GHz, 30GHz, 31GHz and 37GHz as 5G bands
