WOMAN HELD OVER SACRILEGE OF ‘GUTKA’ AT TARN TARAN

-

TARN TARAN: Police arrested a woman (50) here on Wednesday evening in a case of sacrilege of ‘Gutka’ (book of essential Sikh hymns).

Accused Manjit Kaur’s husband is a rickshaw-puller. A junk dealer booked along with her on charge of hurting religious sentiments is on the run. “A man came to us after spotting torn pages of Gutkas at the shop of junk dealer Kishore Kumar,” said complainant and Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindranwale) president Gurjinder Singh. “When confronted, the dealer said Manjit Kaur had sold those pages to him. She failed to give us a clear answer about the source of these pages. We suspect her to be involved in previous sacrilege cases as well,” said Gurjinder Singh.
