‘Request CM to speak to PM Modi’
VARANASI: Wrestler Narsingh Yadav’s mother Bhulna Devi on Wednesday requested Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ensure her son’s participation in Rio.
She claimed that it had now become clear that Narsingh was a victim of conspiracy. The wrestler’s mother stuck to her stand even after it emerged that Narsingh had failed a second dope test. Speaking to HT, Bhulna Devi said, “My son could never take prohibited drugs. I know him well. We rejected the allegation the very day when it was alleged that my son took prohibited drugs. I suspected there was a conspiracy. Eventually, truth prevailed. A person mixed prohibited drugs in his food. It is clear now that my son has committed no fault. I request the CM to speak to PM Modi to ensure that my son gets an entry into the Olympics.”
Father Pancham Yadav has called for a Varanasi bandh on July 30 to protest. He said hundreds of locals from their native village Nima would gather in the temple town and stage a demonstration at the local public relations office of the PM in Ravindrapuri, demanding justice for Narsingh.
