It could be a case a growing bonhomie between two women chief ministers. The Trinamool Congress has turned down a proposal to replace AIADMK’s M Thambidurai from a parliamentary panel to monitor the MPs’ local areas development scheme. Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu had informally asked the Trinamool’s Sudip Bandopadhyay to take over the chairman’s post. But Trinamool chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee asked Sudip to say no as she did not want hurt the sentiments of her Tamil Nadu counterpart, J Jayalalithaa.
