It could be a case a growing bonhomie between two women chief ministers. The Trinamool Congress has turned down a proposal to replace AIADMK’s M Thambidura­i from a parliament­ary panel to monitor the MPs’ local areas developmen­t scheme. Urban developmen­t minister Venkaiah Naidu had informally asked the Trinamool’s Sudip Bandopadhy­ay to take over the chairman’s post. But Trinamool chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee asked Sudip to say no as she did not want hurt the sentiments of her Tamil Nadu counterpar­t, J Jayalalith­aa.
