UK rejects plaints against hijabwearing TV presenter
Britain’s communications regulator Ofcom on Monday rejected complaints that it was inappropriate for a hijab-wearing journalist to present reports of the Bastille Day attack in France. A suggestion in a tabloid that it was not right for presenter Fatima Manji to report the incident set off a storm. Ofcom received 17 complaints about Channel 4 News‘s use of Manji. However, it deemed there was no ground to launch a probe into any potential breach of the broadcasting code.
