Vij tells health dept to prepare separate cadre of specialist­s

CHANDIGARH: Haryana health minister Anil Vij has directed officials of his department to prepare a separate cadre of specialist doctors so that recruitmen­t of doctors could be made.

Vij, who was presiding over a review meeting of the department on Monday, also directed them to specify the number of posts of specialist doctors.

“Keeping in view the demand of doctors, medical officers will be promoted to the post of assistant senior medical officers after a fixed period of time,” he said.

The health minister said the department would also implement a scheme to prepare health cards of all people in the state under which about 36 necessary tests would be conducted after a fixed interval.

The department is also planning to link these health cards with Aadhaar cards.

He also sought a report regarding delay in computeris­ation of civil hospital at Ambala.

Additional chief secretary, health, Rajan Gupta, director general, health services, Dr Kamla Singh and other senior officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
