NOT KNOWN FOR HIS MANNERS

-

Revenue secretary Hasmukh Adhia, a close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not known to mince words. He ran into controversy after a group of income-tax officials passed a resolution against his alleged misconduct. In a recent meeting, chief economic adviser Arvind Subramanian gatecrashed a Goods and Service Tax (GST) meeting chaired by Adhia. Both of them have a serious difference of opinion over GST rates. Subramanian known for his calm, friendly approach went uninvited and jokingly told Adhia that he did not call him, yet he came. Promptly came the reply from Adhia, “I did not want you in the meeting”.
