SHIMLA: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and in-charge for party affairs in Himachal Pradesh, Ambika Soni on Tuesday brought chief minister (CM) Virbhadra Singh and state party chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu together, after days of squabble between them.

“Party will work hard to bring Virbhadra Singh’s government again for the seventh time as his credibility is significant amongst the voters. I was informed that government has fulfilled 90% of the promises it made in its election manifesto,” Soni said.

Soni who was in Shimla to take stock of party’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, held a joint press conference along with Virbhadra Singh and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday. Both Virbhadra and Sukhu had sparred at the extended general house meeting of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee held on Monday.

“Our party wants to make campaign more participative. The CM and state party chief will tour the state and meet workers working at the block and district level to gather direct feedback from them,” she said.

Soni denied any ‘big’ changes in the party indicating that Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will continue to head the party till assembly elections and mentioned that reshuffle in cabinet was prerogative of the CM. Soni, however, warned the leaders from turning to media.

The CM also targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent statement that state was not using the funds for development being allocated by the Centre.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, however, denied having any differences with the CM. HTC
