Eight expelled SP youth leaders apologise, set to return to party

-

LUCKNOW: Eight expelled youth leaders from Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s camp furnished written apologies to the Samajwadi Party (SP) leadership on Saturday, paving the way for their return to the ruling party. Twenty others who either quit or were expelled from the SP following a recent family feud are also expected to follow suit in the days to come.

The eight youth leaders who submitted apology letters to party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav were members of legislative council Sunil Singh Sajan, Anand Bhadauria, Arvind Singh and Sanjay Lathar; SP youth brigade state chief Mohd Ebad; SP Yuvjan Sabha state president Brijesh Yadav; SP youth brigade national president Gaurav Dubey; and Chhatra Sabha state chief Digvijay Singh Dev.

“Work hard for the party in the coming elections,” Mulayam reportedly told the youth leaders after accepting their apologies, indicating that all was forgiven.

This development has come as yet another victory for Akhilesh, two days after Mulayam revoked the expulsion of his uncle, Ramgopal Yadav, and reinstated him to all party positions. Ramgopal was considered Akhilesh’s biggest supporter in the feud. HTC
