CHANDIGARH The Haryana government has formulated a new scheme ‘Hamari Phulwari’ to give a facelift to anganwadi centres under the Anganwadi Adoption Programme.

The scheme proposed by the women and child development department aims at seeking contributions in cash or kind from panchayats, municipal councils, individuals and voluntary organisations for selected anganwadi centres to make them more attractive and child-friendly, said an official spokesperson.

He said chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has granted approval to the scheme.

The main objectives of the scheme are building robust physical and digital infrastructure of these centres and supporting capacity development programmes of anganwadi workers, helpers and supervisors in various fields such as early childhood education and care, nutrition and health education.

The contributions can be in the form of physical infrastructure, health equipment, teaching equipment, capacity building and training programme.

“If the value of item donated is more than Rs 1 lakh, the name of the donor will be displayed in the centre, contribution acknowledged on official portal and a recommendation certificate issued by the department,” said the spokesperson.
