AIJASS asks Jat youths to stay away from dharna in Hisar
HISAR The Hisar unit of the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) on Monday asked youths in the district to refrain from participating in dharnas in the ongoing Jat quota stir. It said that this is being done to protect them from being wrongly framed by the government and to minimise tension between youths and the police.
This comes a day after youths in large numbers attended the ‘Balidan Diwas’ called in memory of those who lost their lives in the quota agitation last year.
Talking to HT, AIJASS district spokesperson Rambhagat Malik said, "We have asked youths to maintain law and order while visiting dharna spots. We have also suggested that they should not visit dharna spots for now. Any decisions taken by AIJASS leaders will be informed to them."
"We are taking this decision because government officials video record proceedings of the dharnas and we want to avoid any trouble," Malik added. He also said that the district leadership will also raise the issue with leaders from others districts and explore possibilities of implementing it across Haryana if required. HTC
