In the past two decades, the tendency to splurge on weddings has become a nightmare for bride’s family, especially in Punjab. However, considering that even the dowry prevention law enacted more than five decades ago is not being implemented in its letter and spirit, it’s important to raise awareness before bringing in legislation on restricting number of guests and dishes served at weddings.
