PM feeling jittery and spreading hatred: Rahul
RAEBARELI:A day after PM Narendra Modi made the ‘kabristanshamshan’ (graveyard-cremation ground) remarks at an election rally in Fatehpur, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said that Modi’s comments showed he was feeling fearful and jittery.
Rahul said people were free to vote for anyone they liked, but they must understand that attempts to spread hatred and create divide were being made in view of the assembly elections.
“Whenever they (BJP) are afraid, they start spreading hatred. Polls come and go. But you must understand this. If UP is set on fire or a house starts burning, everybody’s house will get burnt. They are trying to put one against the other,” said Rahul at a public rally in Chhatoh area of Salon assembly constituency of his Amethi Lok Sabha seat.
“If you create kabristaan (graveyard) in a village, then a shamshaan (cremation ground) should be created. If electricity is given uninterrupted in Ramzan, then it should be given in Diwali. Bhedbhaav nahin hona chahiye (there should be no discrimination),” Modi had said .
Rahul said the mood of the PM had changed after the Congress and the SP formed an alliance. “There is no smile on his face as Modi has realised his party is going to lose the election,” said Rahul.
