Boy beaten to death in Kaithal village, friend injured

KAITHAL: A 18-year-old boy was killed and his friend grievously injured after they were allegedly attacked by unidentifi­ed Padla village of Kaithal district.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep, a resident of Dillowali village. Whereas, Mohit, 16, of Malkheri village, has been admitted in a hospital.

Mohit informed the police that the alleged attack took place on Friday night when Pradeep and Mohit were returning from a marriage function and went to Padla village to drop their friend. While returning from Padla, some people attacked them with sticks.

Pradeep’s father, Satbir, said he got a call that his son was beaten up in Padla. When they reached to the spot, they found his body, whereas Mohit was injured and unconsciou­s.

The police have booked six people, identified as Devendra, Mani Ram, Shri Bhagwan, Sanjeev, Roshan, Pinni for murder and four of them have been arrested.

Kaithal superinten­dent of police, Sumer Pratap Singh, said six people have been booked for murder and four have already been arrested.

He added that two police teams are working to arrest the other two accused.

Meanwhile, agitated family members blocked the Chandigarh-Hisar highway demanding arrest of the accused.

Following police assurance, the villagers lifted the blockade.

The body was sent for postmortem at Kaithal civil hosital, police said.
