Suresh Kumar is chief principal secy to Punjab CM
The Punjab government on Friday appointed retired bureaucrat Suresh Kumar as chief principal secretary to chief minister. An ex-cadre position has been created for the first time in Punjab. Kumar remained principal secretary to Amarinder during his first stint from 2002 to 2007 .

The ex-cadre position has been created for the first time in Punjab to appoint Kumar, who remained principal secretary to Captain Amarinder Singh during his first stint as the CM from 2002 to 2007. Kumar has been appointed in the rank of cabinet secretary of Union government.
Also, the government transfered 19 IAS officers and one PCS officer. Varun Roojam is now chief administrator, GMADA, SAS Nagar, and also director, information and public relations. Nirmaljeet Kalsi is now also additional chief secretary, jails, while KJS Cheema is secretary, freedom fighters, and Karuna Raju, secretary, finance. Rahul Tiwari is secretary, revenue and rehabilitation. Basant Garg will be mission director, food processing; Manvesh Singh Sidhu, special secretary, school education; Gaggandip Singh Brar, special secretary cooperation. Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal will be chief administrator, GLADA, and Arun Sekhri special secretary, personnel.
Abhinav is now director, treasury; Ravi Bhagat chief administrator, PUDA, SAS Nagar. Daljit Mangat is special secretary, power; Gurlovleen Sidhu will be MC commissioner, Amritsar; Ashwani Kumar special secretary, social security. Malwinder Singh Jaggi is director, welfare of SCs and BCs.
Jaskiran Singh is MC commissioner, Ludhiana, and Anindita Mittra joint development commissioner, integrated rural development. Karnesh Sharma has been posted as additional secretary, coordination and protocol; while Moneesh Kumar (PCS) is now additional secretary, forests and wildlife.
