Security aide gets ADGP rank

The cabinet decided to engage the services of inspector general of police (retd) Khubi Ram as security adviser to the chief minister in the rank of additional director general of police (ADGP), with entitlement to equivalent status, pay, perks, privileges and allowances.

Vvoteonaccount approved

The cabinet also approved supplementary grants for the year 2016-17 to be presented before the state assembly during the ongoing session along with proposal for seeking vote-on-account for 2017-18 in the state assembly.

CPS bill deferred

The proposed bill to appoint chief parliamentary secretaries (CPSes) was deferred to the next session. According to sources in the finance department, the bill will have financial implications and will have to first get the nod of the department. “The bill would come after the cabinet expansion as CPS will have to be attached to ministers. The move has been put on hold as there has to be set procedure to appoint the chief parliamentary secretaries. The appointments will also fly in the face of government’s posturing on curtailing wasteful expenditure and ending VIP culture,” they said.
