SLIP LANE FOR SIDHU

This refers to the clearance given to MLA Navjot Sidhu by the advocate general of Punjab to continue with his TV assignment. As far my knowledge goes, this will be a first of its kind in the political history of the world when an elected representative will be engaged in an entertainment show. Sidhu defended his decision by saying that he isn’t engaged in any other capital-generating business that he can influence with his position. I wonder when a govt servant is not entitled to sell insurance policies or start a coaching centre, why there is no such obligation on the political class.
