Khattar cracks the whip, suspends 2 senior officials
CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has placed two officers of different departments under suspension for dereliction of duty in implementing his announcements and called for an explanation from another senior government functionary.
Khattar cracked the whip while presiding over a review meeting concerning the announcements of the backward Nuh district. Among those suspended include executive engineer (irrigation) RK Bodhwal posted at Nuh and assistant research officer (finance) Manoj, according to a government spokesperson. RK Bodhwal did not show interest in implementing the CM’s announcements on the construction of a new minor from Gurgaon Canal to Ujina drain, while Manoj was suspended for recording incorrect status of the CM’s announcement regarding the opening of a new branch of the State Bank of India at Anaj Mandi, Punhana.
The explanation of financial adviser, Haryana Bureau of Public Enterprises, Kiran Lekha Walia, has been called.
SCHOOLS TO BE UPGRADED
Khattar has directed the school education department to upgrade the schools in Nuh and Panchkula districts on priority as per the new policy.
Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of recent announcements, the chief minister said he had approved a new policy for upgrading schools at Morni in Panchkula and in Nuh district. The schools fulfilling the norms as per this policy, he directed, should be upgraded on priority.
The chief minister said that the government will open girls colleges at every 20 km across the state. The mapping of colleges has been completed and the new ones will be opened as per requirement.
