EMPLOYEES ANGRY, SAY PRIVATE OPERATORS ARE ISSUING TICKETS FROM THE BUS STAND; UNIONS SUBMIT COMPLAINT TO JIND SP

ROHTAK: After giving a harrowing time to over 13 lakh commuters last month by going on a three-day flash strike, Haryana Roadways employees union once again shut service in Jind and Hisar on Thursday to protest against private operators.

According to information, some private buses started issuing tickets for new routes at the Jind bus stand on Thursday morning as per the new transport policy, which the government had agreed to withdraw last month after the roadways employees’ strike.

The employees said when they complained to general manager of Jind depot, he did not bother to act.

Angered over the incident, they announced to go on strike and blocked the main gates of the bus stand by parking buses in front of them.

While the authorities managed to restart the service in Hisar by pacifying employees by afternoon, no truce could be reached in Jind till Thursday night.

The strike once again caused inconvenience to thousands of commuters dependent on the roadways service in Jind.

“On one hand the government calls us to hold talks on scrapping its transport policy that gave permits to private operators, but on the other, it takes no action against those private bus operators who defied the instructions,” said Ajeet Nehra, leader of a roadways union.

The angry employees also submitted a complaint to Jind SP against private operators.
