Maur residents protest, halt train for an hour

BATHINDA: Residents of a locality near railway station at Maur Mandi on Thursday stopped the intercity express for over an hour. They were protesting against the decision to build a wall parallel to the railway line. They claimed that the wall will block their way towards the city. The authoritie­s said as the route has been electrifie­d, it is mandatory to do build the wall. The blockade was lifted after the station master accepted a memorandum and assured them that it will be sent to the railway minister. HTC
