Rohtak shocker: Milkman’s son rapes 8yrold in Meham

Accused, suspected to be a minor, had come to deliver milk at victim’s house

ROHTAK: In yet another shocking incident from chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s home town, an 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a Class-12 student, who came to deliver milk at her house in Rohtak’s Meham town.

The alleged incident occurred early morning on Thursday, when the victim’s parents had gone to a nearby hospital to purchase medicines, leaving her alone at home.

The police said the accused, who may be a minor as well, was the son of the regular milkman who delivered milk at the victim’s house.

However, on Thursday, he came instead of his father and committed the crime.

The police sources said the accused entered the house of the victim on the pretext of delivering milk. Finding her alone, he requested the victim to fetch him a glass of water. When she was going in, he groped her from behind and raped her.

He fled the spot threatening the victim of dire consequences if she informed anyone.

The police said the victim, who is a Class-3 student, informed her parents once they came back home, who then lodged a complaint.

The police took the victim to hospital for her medical examination, and have registered a case under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

“The accused is on the run. We have registered a case and are trying to nab him. Further investigation is on to find out more,” said Maneesha Devi, investigation officer of the women police station.

The alleged incident comes in the backdrop of a series of rape incidents reported from Haryana’s ‘crime belt’ of Rohtak and Sonepat.

Earlier this month, a 20-yearold woman was brutally gangraped by her jilted lover and his friend, who later smashed her face with bricks and ran over their car to kill her.
