Two techies drown in Ganga canal

HARIDWAR : Two BTech students from Haryana were drowned while bathing in the upper Ganga canal here on Sunday, police said.

The students were doing summer internship at a BHEL plant for the past three months.

Police said Anil (22) from district Dadri and Ravi (22) from district Bhiwani were bathing at Govindpuri Ghat of upper Ganga canal. “Both were B.Tech student and were taking training in BHEL. We informed their parents and search operation is going on to fish out their bodies. Water level of the canal is high and water is not clear also because of rain in hilly areas. Due to this our divers are facing problems to search their bodies,” said Amarjeet Singh, SHO of Jawalapur police station.
