Don’t get misled while choosing career: Rajnath
KURUKSHETRA: Union home minister Rajnath Singh appealed to the youth to choose their career carefully and not get misled by power, on Monday. He was at the Kurukshetra University to attend the 30th annual convocation.
“Infosys and Al-Qaeda have many similarities, both have highly-educated youth and both have world wide network. But, Infosys works for humanity and Al-Qaeda works to destroy humanity, knowledge and power,” said Rajnath Singh, quoting an article of a famous book ‘The world is flat’ by Thomas L Friedman.
“Ravana was more powerful and intellectual than Rama, but the world worships Rama because of the qualities of character he had,” he said.
He appealed to the youth to follow the teachings of Bhagwad Gita and work to make India ‘Vishva Guru’.
“Having the fastest growing economy, youth population, and natural resources, India has all the potential to become the ‘Jagat Guru’ and we should work on it instead of making our country a super military power,” Rajnath said.
He asked youth to focus on their character instead of running after degrees and career. Earlier, while addressing the gathering, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state is focusing on improving the education sector.
“The government will set up one college in the radius of every 10km,” he said.
