ROHTAK:All India Jat Arakashan Sangrash Samiti national president Yashpal Malik on Monday said that he was satisfied with the state government for fulfilling its promise to the Jat community in March this year.

Addressing a gathering at Jassia village in Rohtak, Malik said the government had granted jobs and compensation to over 95% of the affected families of the Jat community. He said those left will soon be compensated.

The Jat leader said they will hold a meeting of the committee on June 4 in Rohtak, where they will decide on the future course of action to proceed with their demand of reservation in jobs and educational institutes under OBC in Centre.

Softening his stand on finance minister Captain Abhimanyu, Malik said he was sorry for his loss during Jat stir in 2016 and requested him to withdraw cases under which several Jat youths are lodged in jail. Four properties of the finance minister were gutted during the 2016 agitation. They included his residence and school. Accused of taking advantage of the donation given to the AIJASS during their wide-scale agitations, the Jat leader claimed that the money would be used in setting up an All-India level organisation for Jats that will work for the welfare of the community.

Malik said that a delegation of the Jat leaders had recently met Attorney General to request the court to give benefit of upcoming recruitments to Jat youths.
