Two more cases recommended against conman out on bail
MANSA:The Mansa police on Saturday recommended two more cases of fraud against Satish Kumar, who was arrested in 2015 for duping people on the promise of jobs in the police department.
The recommendation came after preliminary probe by a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) on two complaints.
When the conman, who used to pose as an officer on special duty (OSD) of various politicians, was arrested two years ago, a separate case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was also registered against him on recovery of 1,200 banned tablets.
He allegedly also duped a number of people by issuing fake allotment letters of Punjab Urban Development Authority plots.
Satish was lodged in the district jail for six months when he filed a writ petition in the high court, accusing cops of implicating him in false cases.
After getting bail in December 2015, he again targeted candidates for police recruitment last year, including duping a head constable in Mansa with the promise of a job for his son, said sources.
“We have received around a dozen complaints against Satish, but he has been deliberately missing court proceedings,” said station house officer (SHO) Harpal Singh.
He said the accused will be nabbed soon.
